Philosophy & Approach
Understanding the roots of my commitment to justice and equity
My journey in anti-oppression work began with a simple recognition: that our systems—educational, economic, political—too often perpetuate harm against marginalized communities. True change requires more than awareness; it demands active intervention, solidarity, and the creation of spaces where all voices can be heard and valued.
Through my work with North Korean refugees, Jeju community organizing, and institutional policy reform, I've learned that anti-oppression is not a destination but an ongoing practice of listening, learning, and taking accountable action.

Telluride Association - Building community and exploring social justice through collective learning

“True solidarity with the oppressed means fighting at their side to transform the objective reality which has made them these 'beings for another.'”

Debate & discourse - Building spaces of solidarity and resistance through dialogue
I believe in the power of discourse to challenge dominant narratives. Through debate, Model UN, and mock trial, I've used my voice to contest oppressive systems—from criminal justice reform to migration policy—showing that every argument, every speech, every moment of advocacy matters.
My approach centers three principles: active listening, accountable action, and collective continuous learning.
